Many NAT products are approved by applicable civil aviation authorities through the FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) process or Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA).
In cases where an approval
is not applicable, products may be approved for installation
under the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process by FAA. Products may also be approved for installation as
part of an aircraft Type Certificate issued to an aircraft

Newly manufactured products with
TSO Approval or other civil aviation authority approval, and
products approved for installation through the STC process
or aircraft Type Certificate are released from Prescott (see
