JOB OPPORTUNITY

Title: Intermediate Firmware Designer II

Department: Software/Firmware Development

Reports to: Software Development Manager

Salary Range: Dependent Upon Qualifications

DESCRIPTION:
This is an intermediate position involving software programming and microprocessor/microcontroller based hardware development for both current and future products and testing equipment. The successful candidate should be familiar with software life cycle processes, have a good understanding of electronics, and possess experience with micro-based designs.

REQUIREMENTS:
· Recognized degree or diploma in a software/firmware related discipline.
· At least 5 years experience in programming embedded system software in C, C++ and assembly languages.
· Experience with microprocessor & microcontroller based designs.
· Experience with DO-178B would be an asset.
· Experience in digital and analog hardware design would be an asset.
· Good oral and written communications skills.
· Ability to work alone with little or no supervision.
· Ability to work as part of a team.

DUTIES:
· Develop microprocessor & microcontroller based systems.
· Responsible for software development and support for a variety of products.
· Develop various hardware products.
· Project documentation, testing, and production support.
· Other duties as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Work will not generally be supervised in detail. The amount of supervision will depend on the specific assignment.
