JOB OPPORTUNITY
Title: CNC Operator/Machinist
Department: Metal Shop
Reports to: Metal Shop Manager
Salary Range: Dependent Upon Qualifications
DESCRIPTION:
This position involves the safe advanced operation of Vertical Machining
Centers and all other associated machine shop equipment used in the mechanical
fabrication process.
-B.C. Machinist Trade Certification recommended
REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience with the setting up and operation of CNC Machining
Centers
· Experience with MasterCam and Autocad an asset
· Knowledge of CNC turret punch operation an asset
· Knowledge of pressbrake operation an asset
· Ability to multi-task on a regular basis
· Mechanical aptitude
· Excellent hand-eye co-ordination
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Familiarity with computers
· Ability to work with little or no supervision and as part of
a team
· Good health - no physical impairments that would restrict standing
for long periods or lifting heavy objects
· Ability to work shifts
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Setting up and Operation of Hitachi and Daewoo Machining Centers
· Making of Jigs and Fixtures to increase production and repeatability
· Programming CNCs using Mastercam
· Operation of Amada CNC Punch
· Operation of common power tools
· Operation of Haeger press
· General shop duties as required
· Follows maintenance schedule on equipment operated
· Provides guidance to junior metal shop employees
· Provides technical support for other NAT departments
· Maintenance and knowledge of aluminum conversion coating operations
(chemical process line)
· Perform all duties as per the applicable Quality Program Procedure
