JOB OPPORTUNITY

Title: Machine Operator (Metal Shop)

Department: Metal Shop

Reports to: Metal Shop Manager

Salary Range: Dependent Upon Qualifications

DESCRIPTION:
This position involves the safe advanced mechanical operation of all equipment used in the required mechanical fabrication process.

REQUIREMENTS:
· minimum Grade 12 Certificate
· excellent hand-eye co-ordination
· knowledge of pressbrake operation an asset
· knowledge of embosser operation an asset
· knowledge of turret punch operation an asset
· experience in mechanical assembly
· attention to detail and accuracy
· experience/understanding of basic measuring tools
· ability to work with little or no supervision and as part of a team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· operation of vertical belt sander
· operation of mechanical press
· programming and editing of embosser
· follows maintenance schedule on equipment operated
· provides technical support for other NAT departments
· maintenance and knowledge of aluminum conversion coating operations (chemical process line)
· maintenance and operation of darkroom and related equipment
· perform all duties as per the applicable Quality Program Procedure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· heavy lifting/long periods of standing/repetitive motion/periods of strong visual attention

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· noise/dust/fumes/vibration/chemical contact
